@April 8, 2020
We have taken pause to observe, adapt and understand how we can continue to hold onto the integrity of our work while participating in community with extreme limitations on how we gather and care for each other.
Please see visit our Virtual Studio page to find details on ways to work with us now.
We are working creatively to bring you more of that FT goodness, as there is nothing we love more than supporting others in feeling their Finest. We look forward to working with you in new and innovative ways as we continue to support humanity with strength, stability and resiliency.

Both our Roncesvalles and Parkdale studios will be closed until at least April 5, 2020.
We will continue to uphold our values and will be working slowly and creatively on a continuity plan to ensure we are able to support our community and our business with purpose long term, however long this lasts. No membership benefits will be lost.
Please stay tuned to our Newsletter for ongoing updates and information.
@ March 15, 2020
As of Monday, March 16 we will be running a reduced Unison schedule with limited participants at our Parkdale studio. Solo schedule will continue as long as we remain at this level of precaution and awareness.
We have made these decisions based upon what we think is safe and reasonable within the guidelines given by the WHO and the Government of Canada.
Our Unison class sizes will be limited to 3 from 6 people, which will keep everyone at a safe social distance during practice.
We will also be restricting advanced registration to 7 days ahead so that we can be nimble enough to make changes based on how things evolve without creating an abundance of administrative work. As we are all aware, things are changing by the day.
These latest evolutions will be put in place for a minimum of 3 weeks or until things change with distancing and isolation recommendations.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS AND PROTOCOL IN ADDITION TO MARCH 12 STATEMENT INFO BELOW:
Please wash your hands upon entering and before exiting the studio.
Do not hug or shake hands. Just be happy to be present with others from a safe distance.
Please please please self-isolate (absolute quarantine!) if you have travelled internationally (including the US!) or if you live with someone who has just returned from travel.
We’re incredible grateful for a community that is using discretion while still showing up. We are continuing to prepare sustainability and continuity plans for our small independently run business as we hedge for an unknown period of hyper vigilance.
Rest well, be reasonable, take time for stillness. Educate. Act with integrity for yourself and others. Make the next right move.
@ March 12, 2020
We have been having a lot of discussion internally at FT over the last couple of weeks as things have continued to escalate globally on how we are navigating increased sensitivity and vigilance around the coronavirus COVID-19, named yesterday a pandemic by the WHO.
In the last week we have increased our cleanliness practices around the studio but had not made any public comments as we prefer to remain level and grounded in times of uncertainty and fear.
We are not fearful. We care. We also do not take the pandemic label lightly.
We had resisted sending out communication on the matter as our own inboxes became inundated and we are not ones to contribute to fear based sentiments. We also know we are surrounded by a community of intentional, informed and resourceful humans. We do however now want to share how we can work together as a bright and evolving community to continue keeping ourselves moving well and feeling supported.
Increased studio precautions include:
Multiple daily disinfections of commonly touched surfaces including door handles, faucets, spray bottles, etc.
Frequent cleaning of Reformer straps
Daily detailed disinfection of Reformer parts and props (in addition to each regular post class equipment clean)
We will be refraining from all hands on assists for the time being
All laundry will be done in hot water
Disinfectant wipes will be available for increased personal cleaning of props and items you are using
Until further notice we will be waiving all late cancellation fees and ask that you respect this decision with regards to managing your schedule with integrity.
We are asking for increased diligence from you, as well, as we are all in this together. There are many reasons we created an intimate environment with small class sizes and are so grateful for that at this time.
Please take extra care to wipe down ALL reformer surfaces after class from the footbar to the head rest to the rails (a spot we often don’t think about cleaning but touch frequently).
Please use our provided linens for your face or hands when using reformers and props.
Wash hands before and after class
COVID-19 spreads via droplets of saliva through breath, sneezing and coughing, can carry 6-10 feet and impacts by contact either direct to face or via surface contact, ie. if you touch your face after contact with a surface where the virus is present. It does not survive cleaning or hand washing, nor does it travel via sweat.
Practices we are encouraging, in accordance with WHO guidelines and recommendations:
Rest and self-isolation with even the most mild of cold or flu like symptoms or after international travel
Hand washing, minimum 20 seconds (the virus can only live on hands for 10-15 minutes, but so much can happen in this time)
Coughing or sneezing into elbows
Social distancing (avoiding gatherings of 20 or more people and keeping an extended arms length)
Drink lots of water
Do what you need to do to stay well
While the risk factor in Canada is still relatively low, it’s important we do our part to prevent spread. We will be keeping up with information and implementation of best practices as recommended by the WHO and will update this statement as things continue to develop.
Community is so important, now more than ever, and we continue to be here for you. Containing this virus is possible and it requires collective responsibility and action to do so. We look forward to connecting mindfully and respectfully with you during this time.
Please contact us directly if you have any additional questions or concerns, or if you need to cancel a previously booked class.
